I don’t want anything from you, at all. I just want to be the person you choose to sit next to in a room full with all the people you have known.

Recently I was speaking to a friend about my work, and I had said “but my art doesn’t really feature relationships” and he had told me I was wrong. He reminded me that plenty of my works featured relationships. Relationships between people, people and animals and our relationship to nature. I was touched that he had seen something in, and remembered works that I had forgotten about.
It’s always wonderful hearing what other people have to say about your art, because as a creative you can get stuck in your own head.. This was one of his examples - ‘Fawn’ from the Wild Things collection.
